Volunteer Opportunities Winter/Spring 2024

Looking for a way to volunteer to support students in Port Townsend schools? You are in the right place! In response to suggestions from schools and parents, the PT PTA has lined up a number of volunteer opportunities in schools and at enrichment activities in the coming months. Please take a look and what is on the agenda and then fill out a short form to let us know how you want to be involved. 

For most activities, volunteers need to be background checked by schools. Once you do this, your certification is good for two years. Not sure if you are certified? You can check here. (If you are not, its a quick 2-3 day turnaround and then you are ready to volunteer!)

Current PT PTA Volunteer Opportunities

Salish Coast Recess/Lunch/Games -- Ongoing, Weekly M,T,Th,F, 11:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 12:00-1:00 p.m.

Salish Coast would like more adult presence at recess and lunch. They are looking to train a team of parents/guardians to help lead games and activities for students and help monitor the lunch room.

Art Night at Blue Heron Middle School (May Date, TBD)

A night to celebrate student artwork! Ahead of the annual Artwave, which displays students' art in businesses in town, at this event brings together student art in a gallery-like setting at Blue Heron and features student performances. Looking for volunteers to support the event by preparing and organizing artwork, and helping with event logistics and management.

Spring Fling Parent Party (June 15)

A fun night for the adults that raises funds for the PT PTA. Help organize a great party for all the grown ups who support and care for the kids in our schools and community. Looking for volunteers to help create an annual event that families and schools look forward to every year!

Field Days (June Dates, TBD)

End the school year right by helping at field days. the PT PTA is partnering with the Production Alliance to run fun games and competitions at schools' annual end-of-year outdoor play days. Looking for volunteers to oversee games like relay and sack races, tug of war, and more.
